“E-mail vs. social media” has now become the hottest topic
ever to discuss. A number of people amplify on social media for its
effectiveness in comparison to email marketing. On the other hand, some people
have defended email marketing and acknowledged its victory over social media.
Some call social media to be the most modern communication tool and some are in
favour of email marketing for its reliability in reaching business
organizations and professionals. The point is, both have their own significance
depending upon communication intent and targeted audience.

5 Ways to Build a Solid Email Marketing List
Email marketing is a powerful tool that can extend your
reach beyond your website and create new sales opportunities. If
you simply sell to customers when they happen to visit your site, you have an
all-or-nothing chance of making a sale. Should they leave without making a
purchase, there's no guarantee they'll return later. But when you build an email list of current and potential
customers, you can reach out repeatedly to your prospects with targeted
messages.

What is The Value of an Email Address Today?
While using email
marketing, the very first question comes to our mind —to what extent is email
marketing effective and how much it is worth to your business?
Well, a simple
demonstration can reveal the real power of email marketing. Supposedly, you
sent 1000 emails, 900 people received your message, and approximately 700
recipients opened your message out of which 200 found your message to be
interesting. In such event you can expect at least 40 people to be enquiring
about your service or products.

The Lifetime Value of an Email Address
Knowing the lifetime value of a customer gives marketers a
means to measure the success of their campaigns and their return on investment.
As Alan Pollock notes, knowing a customer’s lifetime value also gives

The Secret Email Marketing Checklist
Marketing is unlike many other functions in one very
important way – if you make a mistake, it’s hard to hide. If you’re in email
marketing, your errors are seen by every customer and prospect that opens
your emails, which is why few things are scarier than approving a send to an
extremely large audience (except, perhaps, my unwashed face in the morning). I
have nightmares in which I find out, the morning after a big send, that I’ve
spelled every customer’s name wrong.
My fear of sending out a bad email has caused me to create
something that I don’t share with a lot of people. In fact, I’ve never shared
this with anyone – not even my parents. But among other marketers I feel safe
revealing my creation: my secret email checklist.

Why Email Marketing is Still Significant in 2016
The very first email was sent in 1971 (long before the web
first came online, which was in the early 90s) and since the time email
marketing has been there in almost all the work places as the backbone of
communication in the modern world, personally as well as professionally. It has
been considered to be the most effective internet marketing tool that holds on
its own in the marketing options and choices for businesses.

6 Ideas for Growing Your Small Business Email List
If you're driving traffic to your website, you probably have
conversion goals that tie directly back to revenue: lead, sale, phone call etc.But after only 1 visit, many visitors might not be ready to
convert. You can increase the likelihood of them returning to your site by
providing easy and obvious ways for them to opt-in to your email list—let's
call this a micro-conversion. By capturing their email address on their first
visit, you can start to develop a relationship with them, build the case for
your product, and get them to keep coming back to your website until they
convert into real business.

The Dispute Continues Over Email Privacy Rules
Email is a core communication tool for consumers and, of
course, the companies that want to influence and interact with them. However,
privacy protection of email messages among consumers, between companies and
customers, and basically all other communication enabled by ESPs, remains a
pressing topic. That's especially true with the recent reintroduction of
the Email Privacy Act to Congress by Rep. Kevin Yoder (R-KS), the
bill's lead sponsor.
